Saturdays cross-sport parlay December 20, 2008

So the 6 game didn’t play out the other day. But the 5 and 4 game parlays did. Again, taking the money lines was a conservative play. When it comes tme to place the wager, i usually go with the moment. Sometimes it pays out, sometimes it burns you. Point is, You can always hedge a bet like that. Do the money line on one side and the points in another. Playing more than one parlay is always a good option, as long as you have the bank roll. Either way, I lost a parlay tonight by 3 points on the Cavs @ Nuggets Over. Neither team scored in the last 90 seconds of the game. If that goes through I hit 2 parlays A 2 gamer and a 4 gamer. No biggie, it’s part of the game. So back to Saturdays action. So lets start with the NFL matchup Saturday in Dallas.
RAVENS (+4.5) @ COWBOYS (O/U 39)
The Swan Song at Texas Stadium !! It would be hard to see the Cowboys losing this one. But with the way the Cowboys Soap opera has been playing out, A loss would leave the opportunity open for a hollywood remake down the road. The Boys are doing well with the return of Tony Simpson….. i mean Romo, Tony Romo. Beating up the Giants last week helped keep the playoff picture alive. A loss this week combined with a Eagle win at the Redskins would make next Sundays Eagle Cowboy game an very interesting game. Can TO and company hold it together for one more game ? They will be facing the Ray Lewis charged Ravens defense. Don’t forget the Ravens lost a heartbreaker to the Steelers last week. Now with the Playoffs on the line, the Ravens need a win Saturday in Dallas. We all know the Ravens defense is a hard hitting , physical bunch. Can Romo keep taking the hits ? As good as the Ravens D is, they give up more points on the road. And Falco is the real deal at QB. i must say, I like the Ravens getting the points and the over in this one. ravens +4.5 over 39
So onto the NBA.
CLIPPERS (+4.5) @ BUCKS (O/U 192)
So it’s the other team from LA, the Clippers. Which have broken the 100 pt mark 2 of last 3 games. The Bucks have broken 100 2 of last 3 home games. I gotta like the over in this one. Looking of a fast paced run and gun pace. The Bucks are 4-1 in last 5 home games, scoring 100 + points in all 4 of those victories. The Bucks aren’t so hot on the road, but i like them at home. (having won by 5 or more points in all 3 of those wins.) As long as the pace is pushed and turnovers are forced, see this over covered.
JAZZ (-10) @ BULLS (O/U 200)
The Jazz aren’t a grreat road team, although they are 4-2 in the last 6 road games. Losing to the Cletics and the Suns. The Bulls can put points on the board. The Defense also allows just as many points. I am not sure of the 10 point spread but I do like the over.
JAZZ $ LINE AND THE OVER
KINGS (+15.5) @ HORNETS (O/U 197.5)
Again, a big spread here. Need the Hornets to win by 16 to cover. I am thinking Hornets $ line for sure. As for the over over/under, thats a tough one as well. If history repeats itself, the Hornets have won the last 4 at home but haven’t hit the 197.5 mark in any of those games.
So the Kings are 1-1 with the Intreim Coach NATT. Do I think the kings can win, NO. Will they lose by 16 points or more, i don’t know. The tricky part is, the Hornets can turn this into a romp. If it is a 103-87 point win, the over isn’t covered. Say they keep it close. We are looking at a 105 -98 victory. The over is covered, but short on the points. in a situation like this, I would play it safe and go with the HORNETS $ LINE
NUGGETS (+4.5) @ SUNS (O/U 222)
I don’t know about you, but 222 seems a little high. That means one low scoring quarter for either side and you can kiss that over good bye. Wait till about a hlaf hour before tip and see if the total points drop a few points. That might be a good late minute move. other than that, I gotta go with the under. Denver isn’t the high octane offense they are at home. The Suns put 115 on the board, how confident are you that the Nuggets will put up 110 ? I am leaning suns +4.5 and the UNDER.
6 GAME PARLAY
Ravens +4.5 with the OVER (39), Bucks Clippers OVER (192), Jazz $ Line, Hornets $ Line, Suns/Nuggets Under (222)
5 GAME PARLAY
Ravens +4.5 with the over, Hornets $ Line, Jazz $ Line,

So I know that I have been absent of late, but I am back with a cross-sport parlay play tonight. So Lets start with the NBA.
Not much going tonight in the NBA. 2 games are slated.
SPURS (+3) @ MAGIC (O/U 192)
The Spurs are coming off a loss at the hands of the Hornets last night. Ending a 6 game winning streak. A game they were in through out, boiled down to who wanted it more. The Home team Hornets played harder and smarter and hit some shots down the streatch that enabled them to pull out the victory. The Spurs just got out played in the last 4 minutes. End of story. The Magic on the other hand are starting a four game homestand. Not that the road treated them bad, going 4-1 over that 5 game span. Not to mention they won 2 in a row on the road without the big man Howard. Who will be back in the line up tonight. I think the Magic are going to be pumped to back back in front of the home fans. Not to mention the fans will be cheering the return of Howard. I like the Magic giving and wouldn’t be shocked to see the over.
SUNS (+4.5) @ BLAZERS (O/U 204)
When this line came out yesterday, the O/U opened at 201. At present , it jumped 3 points and is now at 204. And i still would take the over. The Blazers and Suns can put points on the board. The Suns are averaging 102 pts per game while the Blazers are just north of 98 pts per game. However, the Blazers average slightly more at home (breaking 100 in 5 of 6 last home games- 3 of 3 in the month of december). The Suns have lost the last 3 road games they have played, breaking the 100 point mark only once in that span. The closest game being a 115-110 loss to the Lakers. Previous 2 losses where by 10+ pts. I am not crazy about the -4.5 the Blazers are giving, although I do figure them to get the W. Looking at the OVER and the Blazers $ Line.
COLTS (-6) @ JAGUARS (O/U 44)
The Colts can lock up the top Wildcard spot with a win tonight. Despite the 3-4 start to the season , the Colts have since won 7 in a row to keep them in the playoff picture. Aside from upsetting the lowly Packers, the Jags have been flat out bad at home (2-5). However, they di win the first meeting of the season in Indy 23-21. If this was a Sunday afternoon game, I would take the under. But since it is a Thursday Night game and the Colts are motivated, I am inclined to push the over. I could see the Colts winning by 10, but 6 points seems like a big number with Harrison out and Addai a question mark. The Jags 2 back combo has been cut in half. With Taylor sidelined, Jones-Drew will have to shoulder the load. I will say, the under is starting to look better and better. Still, one can never underestimate Peyton in the regular season crunch. Questionable in the postseason, as some might say, he is still rock solid in th regular season. if Manning gets out to throwing, I can see this game being a shoot out. With nothing to play for , but to be the spoiler, expect to see the Jags come out gunning early. If the Jags can stay in the game early, this could turn out to be an entertaing game. Still to play safe I would go Colts $ line
So goto your favorite and check out the Cross-Sport Parlays.
